Write a strong headline. I wouldn’t go into much detail here. Rather, I’d use this as an opportunity to briefly talk about this course you have and remind the students about other courses they can find in the DSLX Academy. This can be discussed as a headline or a subject line in an email.

Hook and hook again: your opening line needs to hook your reader. But, then you need to continue to do so for the first paragraph and into the second. How can you reassure your reader that they’re in for a good read?

Practice what you preach: cover letters are just as important as the content itself. You’re being assessed at every level. So, put your best foot forward and write your most charming when introducing your work.

Formatting: Think about your reading UX. Format you email or cover letter well and give your reader a pleasant visual experience that’s easy to digest.

Let your writing do the talking: as writing with SEO, you want to deliver on reader intent as quickly as possible. That means, you’ll want to get your reader reading your work fast. Give them just enough information to pique their curiosity and get them reading your submission!
