Who is it for
Why is <span class="is-softi">storytelling important?</span>
Whether it’s convincing copywriting proving your product is the perfect fit, or weaving epic tales of adventure in a novel, mastering the art of telling stories transforms ideas into unforgettable experiences.
Storytelling connects people across cultures, professions, and generations. Whatever your message, there’s a story behind it, and your audience needs to be able to imagine it. Organizational psychologists have proven that successful storytelling makes the message more memorable and facts are 20 times more memorable if part of a story.
With strong storytelling skills, you can build a brand, shape a business proposal, and create narratives that stick with people. Storybooks draw unconsciously on the universal human experience— as do marketing campaigns. There’s a lot to be learned from grandmothers’ tales.

Meet your instructor

Ray Slater Berry is a self-published fiction author, experienced SaaS writer, and founder of his own content agency, dslx.
While studying at Falmouth University Ray identified his dyslexia. While many told him he should pursue something else because of his dyslexia, he pressed on with his passion for storytelling.
In 2021, Ray started dslx—the name was inspired by dyslexia—and ever since he's been proving people wrong and showing them what dyslexic and minority writers can do.
Today, Ray is a self-published fiction author, with a psychological thriller: Golden Boy. He works with SaaS brands across the world via dslx, and is walking proof that your writing can take you wherever you want to go. If you don't know which direction that is yet, you'll find out on this course.
